Health Risks in Homes

The following article came out this week in USA Today. According to the National Center for Healthy Housing, 1 in 3 homes in metro areas could face health risks. Water leaks, peeling paint, holes or rodents are contributing to compromised indoor air quality in homes across the country. The top problem? Water leaks.

USA Today News Story

This line stands out to me.

"Efforts to address all health risks posed by housing — similar to steps taken to remove lead and asbestos — are increasing. Morley (Rebecca Morley, head of the NCHH) says poor indoor air causes up to 40% of asthma, which has nearly tripled among children since 1980."

More evidence that the tide is turning.
